Dear Joe,

I have been a Football Agent for over 14 years and have been associated with some of the top players in college and the NFL. During my career I have had many of these players suffer concussions, which have affected their lives considerably.

As an agent, I develop a very close relationship with my clients and I am always looking out for products that can further their careers and, more importantly, protect them. Concussions are a massive issue in the NFL and as such I took a tremendous interest in protective equipment that can help save their lives.

I recently became aware of a mouth guard product called Brain Pad, that not only protects players teeth, but also protects the Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ – also known as the Jaw Joint), which is located right below the base of the brain and vulnerable to impact.

The Brain Pad Jaw Joint Protector reduces the impact to the TMJ by as much as 40%, and thus acts as a cushion for hits to the Jaw and Face Mask which account for as many as 50% of the concussions that occur.

Because I care so deeply about protecting my players, I have provide the Brain Pad Jaw Joint Protector to every one of my NFL players and have encouraged them to use it in the interest of lowering the risk of concussions.

I strongly urge anyone interested in protecting any player playing a contact sport to consider the Brain Pad Jaw Joint Protector as their Mouth Guard of choice.

Sincerely,
David E. Canter
CEO DEC Management

Former Strikeforce champion & Sanshou kickboxer, MMA middleweight Cung Le (9-2, 2-1 UFC) knocked out Rich Franklin (29-7, 14-6 UFC) with a clean counter right hook 2:17 into the first round of UFC 148 at the Cotai Arena in Macau, China.

Obviously Cung Le had had done his homework on Franklin before entering the ring. Although Franklin was very active from the beginning of the fight; kicking effectively to Le’s legs and body, and punching in combination to the head; Franklin let his guard down and Cung Le made him pay for it, unleashing his devastating right hook which dropped Franklin cold.

He kept on throwing that punch at me, and I wasn’t able to time my kick because he was loading up and looking for me to kick so he could catch me with a punch.

Cung Le patiently took Franklin’s kicks until he saw his chance to slide inside with one quick step and caught Franklin with a crushing blow right on his jaw.

I don’t know what else to say: it was a lucky punch.

At 40 years old, Cung Le is heading into the final chapter of his career in combat sports. Le’s victory over the former UFC middleweight champion is another major accomplishment to add to his impressive collection.

That was the biggest fight of my life. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I’m just grateful.

Oscar De La Hoya wore a Jaw Joint Stabilizer!

Oscar De La Hoya, aka “The Golden Boy”, defeated 17 world champions and won 10 world titles in six different weight classes.

He has also generated more money than any other boxer in the history of the sport, an estimated $696 million pay-per-view income.

De La Hoya also wore a Jaw Joint Stabilizer!

De La Hoya comes from a boxing family. His grandfather Vicente, father Joel Sr. and brother Joel Jr. were all boxers.

De La Hoya’s amateur career included 234 wins, 163 by knockout, with only six losses. In 1989, he won the National Golden Gloves title in the bantamweight division.

In 1990, at the age of 17, he won the U.S. National Championship at featherweight and was the youngest U.S. boxer at that year’s Goodwill Games, winning a gold medal.

At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, De La Hoya defeated Marco Rudolph of Germany to win a gold medal at the Barcelona Olympic Games.

De La Hoya was named The Ring’s “Fighter of the Year” in 1995 and Ring Magazine’s top-rated Pound for Pound fighter in the world in 1997 & 1998.

After the official announcement of his retirement from the sport in Los Angeles on April 14, 2009, De La Hoya founded Golden Boy Promotions, a combat sport promotional company. He is the first American of Hispanic descent to own a national boxing promotional firm.

As you can see in many of the photos, De La Hoya is employing the “Clench & Breathe” technique with a Dual-Arch Jaw Joint Stabilzer in his mouth.

Cung Le & Bobby Dixon wear Brain Pad!

In his most recent fight at UFC 148 fight, Cung Le won a unanimous decision, despite squaring off against Patrick Cote, a known heavy-handed striker.

Cung Le has never been knocked out in his career and has worn Brain Pad for over 10 years. He is still considered one of the best fighters ever.

Look at this picture and you will see Le’s jaw muscles clenched on the Brain Pad, stabilizing his jaw joint.

Over the past two decades, the Brain Pad Dual-Arch Jaw Joint protector has been the subject of three independent biomechanical studies and numerous peer-reviewed and published studies; and the on-the-field testimony continues to pile up in support of it’s superior performance in reducing impact energy being transferred to the brain from hits to the jaw joint.

Single-arch mouth guards do not reduce impact energy transfer to the brain.

In recent head-to-head testing by Black Belt Grand Master Bobby Dixon, he took impacts with single arch mouth guards and Brain Pad Pro Plus.

Due to the conclusive evidence experienced by Dixon, he now requiring all his students, including his son Eric, who fight in mixed martial arts (MMA) combats to wear a Brain Pad.

Sports Protection Technologies: “We want athletes to stay in the game”.

Over the last 30 years, professional sports has grown into a multi-billion dollar global industry. Television and the Internet have raised the profile of leagues, teams and individual players to epic proportions, and fans of sport have enjoyed more access than ever before.

While the players have gotten bigger, stronger and faster; salaries, endorsements and incentives have followed suit, increasing the pressure on athletes to maintain high levels of performance and ‘earn their keep’, often hiding or playing through career-threatening injuries.

Unfortunately for many individuals adopting this “Tough Guy” mentality, their own long-term health has been compromised. Even worse, younger players imitating professionals are exposing themselves to serious dangers out on the field.

Sports Protection Technologies (SPT) is at the forefront of an emerging “Smart Guy” mentality that incorporates a healthier approach to training and protection from injury. Whether it be replenishing vital fluids lost during performance, shielding minor injuries from further damage, or reducing impact energy to the Brain, SPT strives to raise awareness about the dangers involved in contact sports and offers high-end solutions that actually help prevent injuries from occurring in the first place.

We want athletes to ‘stay in the game’ and enjoy a healthy life, long after their career is over.
